Daft Punk - Da Funk

Daft Punk are currently one of the main projects of electronic music in France. The group consists of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975).

The name Daft Punk was inspired by a disparaging article, published in the British magazine Melody Maker. The magazine had classified the first work of the duo as "a bunch of dumb punk" (in English, "a bunch of daft punk").

The recording debut of Daft Punk with its name was "The New Wave", released by the record label Soma Records in 1993. Such was followed by his first commercial success, the single "Da Funk" (1995).

The duo's first album, Homework (1997), was considered an innovative synthesis of techno, house music, acid house and electro, and also one of the most influential albums of e-music of the 1990s.
